PASSERIFORMES: Megaluridae
Megalurus gramineus
Geoff and I visited Lake Galletly at the Queensland University agricultural college at Gatton and were amazed to see that there were almost no birds on the lake. Normally there are hundreds of waterbirds of many different species.
We put it down to there being so much water around at the moment due to recent heavy rains that the birds have been able to spread out.
A consolation prize for me was the appearance of this Little Grassbird in the shrubs surrounding the wooden boardwalk leading to the hide.
